QUESTION: Why do you say the day begins at sunset instead of 12:00 a.m. midnight?

ANSWER:  In Leviticus 23:32—In Leviticus 23:32—concerning the Day of Atonement it says:

(32) “It shall be to you a Sabbath of rest and you shall afflict yourselves.  In the ninth day of the month at sunset from sunset to sunset you shall keep your Sabbath.”    This is the clearest verse showing when God says when the day begins and ends.  In fact, we can see from the first page of your Bible God says evening and morning one day, etc.  The day begins at sunset, evening time, not midnight as has been the practice since Roman times.
