QUESTION: Where does it say we don’t go to heaven when we die?

ANSWER:  John 3:13 “And no one has ascended into heaven except He who came down from heaven, even the son of man, who is in heaven.”  This tells us that no one goes to heaven.  And in Acts 2:34 it says, that David, a man after God’s own heart didn’t go to heaven either.  Verse 34 “For David has not ascended into the heaven, but he himself said. ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand.’”

In Revelation 21 it plainly says that God Himself will dwell among men, not men going to Him.  Let’s read Revelation 21:2 “And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (3) “And I heard a great voice from heaven say, behold the tabernacle of God is with men and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people; and God Himself shall be with them and be their God.”  In fact, I Corinthians 15, known as the resurrection chapter, tells us that we are asleep, awaiting the resurrection.  Read the whole chapter.
