Prayer List
PRAYER LIST
NOTICE: It is the responsibility of the person requesting prayers to keep us updated on any changes in status. If we do not receive any updates within thirty days, we reserve the right to remove the requests believing that the prayers have been answered. Thank you.
(Praises to God) Updated: 7-15-25
Some have asked why we put those who have entered into rest in the praises section. It is because they are no longer suffering and await the day of our Lord’s return. Please let us know when a prayer has been answered. We request our Father’s help, so, shouldn’t we give Him praise for the answered prayers.
Wendell Yeary: He has returned home safely from visiting family in South Dakota.
Deb Morten: She’s almost done with her cold! Lingering congestion & stuffiness going on.
Prayer List:
Joni Mendez: She’s still in much pain with her lower back, buttocks, left shoulder & hip. Her hip replacement surgery is scheduled 9/15. Her second surgery won’t be scheduled until probably sometime in December or January. Her dental appointment is on 7/7. She’s requesting prayers for both. Love ya all!
Jim Morten: He lost more weight this week & is down to 120 pounds. The endocrinologist said that insulin will not help his pancreas at all. He’ll pursue a consultation with a naturopathy doctor (via phone; the doctor is in Ava, MO (His name is Chris Deatherage, a Mennonite Sabbath keeper who’s been a naturopathy doctor for 40 years.).
Susan Morten (Jim’s sister): She had eye surgery on 6/30 due to bleeding interior of the eye, retinal detachment, & floaters. She has restrictions on physical activity, & must miss work for another week or so.
Dan Morgan (Deb’s ex-husband): After having his bypass surgery almost a month ago, he was having difficulty breathing. He went to the hospital & had almost 2 liters of water removed from around his lungs! Went back again & one half liter was drained. He now wears a device that constantly drains the area.
Overseas Brethren: Please remember these brethren in your prayers & offerings. Please pray for their safety & that their needs be met. Philippines: Pastor Nestor is doing well & churches are growing, while getting ready for typhoon season to begin again. They are still in need of financial support, & if you can help, your offerings would be much appreciated. Despite their typhoons, earthquakes, nearby volcanic eruptions, heavy rains, & mudslides, they’re persevering & doing the Work of God. Nigeria: Pastor Ezekiel: He received enough funding to pay for his wife’s burial. The Muslims have been moving down from the north, attacking & killing Christians, so please keep our brethren in your prayers. Kenya: Pastor Martin needs lots of prayer! With 20 churches now in his care (Kenya, Tanzania, & Uganda), he does a lot of work & the churches are growing! Two more churches were added 2 weeks ago in Kenya: one in Bondo & one in Giribe! He can’t go into Uganda right now because of all the turmoil from the Muslims. He’s working very much serving the brethren & working to further God’s Work. We’re trying to continue our monthly commitment of $2500 to buy food for the orphans, & help with the rent on several meeting places. Without the meeting places, they have to meet alone in their homes without a Bible or any way of learning. We send them teachings & the sermon links each week, but it’s impossible to get them to individual families if they can’t meet somewhere. It’s a struggle each month to raise the funds we need to help them. The offerings that are given are much appreciated.
Jeremy Atkins: He has 5 children & his 16 year-old has Leukemia.
Gevedia Conner: I’ve been joining this conference line for about 2 years, what a blessing it has been to me! Can you please add my husband to the prayer list? His name is Randall Conner. Praying for his spiritual ears & eyes to be opened & for him to be truly converted & born again. Thank you, Gevedia
Bob & Joyce Dunn (Longtime friends of Wendell): Wendell saw Bob 3 weeks ago & Bob reported that Joyce seems to be doing a little better than she was before. Bob is 81 & pretty active, but Joyce had a stroke last year that rendered her basically helpless. Bob takes care of her by himself, even helping her to the bathroom.
Faye Farrell (Wendell’s neighbor): Wendell saw her 3 weeks ago & said she seemed to be in the same or maybe a little worse condition. She’s around 75 years old. Her husband died in 2021, so she’s very depressed & missing him. She also has severe back pain.
Leann Eison (for a co-worker): I work with an amazing cardiologist. She recently had to have what the surgeons thought was a relatively simple surgery to remove a large cyst. Her results came back & she has been diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. This is so rare that they do not have any documented treatment plans & her prognosis is very poor. She’s a beautiful Mother of 4 children, ranging in age from 16 to 10. She’s from Poland & has an amazing love for God. When we talked she only asked for me to have hope & to pray for a miracle. I apologize for the length of this request, but I wanted you to know a little about this kind mother, wife & daughter who I am asking for prayer. Thank you & God Bless.
Marlene Brown: Her hip bone has been causing her some pain. She had an x-ray/mini MRI, which found a 7mm cyst in her chest (lung?). She’ll go back in Nov. to check for growth. She requests prayer for God to get rid of it by her appointment. She has a thickening of skin on the top of her stomach, where a hietal hernia would be. A probe will be done to see what’s going on.
Susie Booth (Marlene’s sister-in-law): She’s hanging in there. She isn’t holding water right now & has gained a few pounds, which is very good! She’s on good spirits, but gets tired very fast.
Bonnie Chrisman: The nerve pain seems a little better, but the pain level is often high. The doctor said that it would take a couple of weeks or so to recover from her procedure.
Horatio Pinel (Joni’s nephew-in-law): He’s Joni’s niece’s (Rocki’s) husband, who will be deployed soon. The Air Force hasn’t told them when, but they will be deploying their troops soon. Praying that it’s not in Afghanistan or any other place where war has broken out.
Harry Mendez (Joni’s brother): He has shingles among other medical conditions, which include heart problems.
Melva & Julie Howard: Melva is doing well, had another birthday, & she’s thankful that she’s alive for another year & can help Julie! She’s also teaching a local couple about God – one lesson is of Pentecost & the sea of glass! Julie is doing a lot better & has hope that she will live. She’s still having pain (from her broken hip on 8/26/24 & related surgery), but is living & growing in grace. They plan to attend the Feast in Branson this year.
Marilyn Turner: She’s still having arthritic joint pain, not as bad in her left arm & shoulder now…The pains now are more in her knees, legs, & back. She also has high blood pressure, which she is taking meds for. She’s doing better, pretty much recovered from her fall. Her daughter, Sherry & husband, Jeff, had visited her from Florida after her fall. She had a checkup on 6/6, which went pretty well. The doctor had to freeze a few small skin cancers off of her back, but thought it would be okay.
Pat Harvel (Dave Lind’s cousin, of Harrisburg, IL): She’s suffered a bad stroke on 5/15. She lost her husband, Gary, last Febuary 2. They had been married about 40 years. The stroke affected her left side, as she had little or no feeling in her left arm & left leg. She’s doing better & was transferred to Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL, where she’s been for about 4 weeks, getting physical therapy..she’s doing pretty good with it. They had her up walking when Dave went to visit her. The therapy is going well, they have her up walking daily, & sitting up. I thank everyone for their prayers, & ask for continued prayers, as, no doubt her road to full recovery will not be easy.. or quick.
Bert Devin: His heart is not working well & he has a lot of fluid build up in his ankles.
Karma Devin: Apparently, her osteoporosis has progressed beyond the ability for the pain medication to be effective during certain weather nights. It is no fun listening to the woman you love screaming in pain several times during the night.
Kiera Devin-Ariel (Bert & Karma’s daughter): She truly needs a miracle. Her ex-husband has put her in such a bad situation, she’s in desperate straits, & is so far away. He took her daughters while she was at work & enrolled them in a school 45 minutes away. California streets & roads are scarcely maintained. Her car is torn up, leaking oil, & bad steering. She needs her car to take the girls to school, 45 min. away, daily, as well as getting to & from work. Ex has papers she needs although she has MO birth certificates. Since he had their last names changed, in CA, she can’t re-enroll the girls at the closest school. Only God knows what she is not telling.
Steve & Teresa Hicks, Samantha, Stephanie & Jack: Steve was released from Home Health on 6/4 because he was doing well enough that they couldn’t help him any longer. He returned to his regular PT. He’s feeling better since his doctor took him off his B.P. meds, but they’re concerned about his B.P. dropping. Please pray that it will stabilize. It’s troubling for him how fast his mind gets tired. What used to take him 1 or 2 days to recover, now takes him several days. His neurologist said that the EMG showed that he has severe neuropathy in both legs, feet, & his right arm. She said there’s nothing they can do for him except to put him on pain meds. He will not go that route. They can’t do surgery due to his heart. She suggested an epidural, but the shots he had in the past never worked. So, for now, he will continue PT & trust God to sustain him or heal him.
Due to the stroke in 2023, processing a lot of information is still difficult. It affects his vision & makes him tired, so he has been told to work & then rest every 15 minutes. He will continue seeing a cardiologist & a vascular doctor as they monitor his carotid arteries, his heart, & the blood restrictions in his legs.
Teresa works hard at her regular job & to keep the household running. Samantha gave up her regular job to care for her dad & maintain repairs inside & out around their home. Stephanie & her son, Jack, help when & where they are able. We are all thankful for them! Please pray that they can continue to help while balancing their own responsibilities. Thank you all for your love, thoughts, & prayers.
Ruth Coleman (Deb’s mom): Ruth (80) has early Alzheimer’s & her doctor is now discussing a referral for geriactric memory care. Her dementia is progressing steadily. She’s now beginning to have incontinence issues.
Mistie Morgan (Deb’s daughter): She’s checked herself into a hospital for 60 days due to much stress from trying to break away from her boyfriend & drying out from alcohol & some other drug. She was in danger of losing her job as a dog groomer, which she loves, because all of her issues were affecting her job performance.
Bill Morten (Jim’s brother): He & the docs are still trying to figure out his health issues. He requested prayer for his overall wellbeing.
Debbie Eichner (Deb’s cousin): She fell again 3 weeks ago in her doctor’s office because the doctor’s assistant placed her on a stool with wheels! She flew off of it while the assistant was working on her, landed on her back (with back brace on) like a turtle, & got a huge blood clot on her rear. On top of all of her medical issues, her landlord is selling her apartment building soon & she must find a new senior living apartment/care facility.
Frank Skilton (Deb’s cousin): He is receiving maintenance chemo to keep his stomach cancer away & is doing well. He’s still missing his wife, Gerry, who died last February.
Court Greenfield (Jim & Deb’s former minister): He is 84 & has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It is affecting his memory, thinking abilities, & motor skills.
