Clean & Unclean food lists

Below, you will find links to lists and to offsite websites that share clean & unclean manufactured foods.   We will add more links & lists as we find them.

Note: There are two types of fish that have become popular in restaurants and stores:

1. SWAI (Vietnamese catfish)   The SWAI is an unclean fish and should not be eaten.  Some restaurants will call it a whitefish, but this is not correct.

2. Tilapia.  This is a clean fish, but it is recommended that you only eat those that are ocean caught.  Many tilapia are now farm raised in very poor conditions.  If you are unsure about where it came from, then you will have to make the choice of whether to eat it or not.

The following lists show fish that are clean to eat.  If a fish does not appear on the list, then it is best to avoid it.  Just because someone says it’s whitefish, have them tell you what kind of fish it really is, if they can.  If not, then it is safer to avoid eating it.

PLEASE READ: The following link below will take you to the Israel of God Research Committee’s clean/unclean food lists.  The committee researches  how manufactured foods are processed and what ingredients are used in that process.  We do not necessarily agree with any other information available on the site, but it appears to be the best source for finding out about foods and drinks.     (Click here for Clean/Unclean foods website)

Below is a link to a business that serves clean foods:

THE YELLLOW DELI in Warsaw, MO

This cafe is run by Seventh Day Sabbath Keepers, so you don’t have to search your food for those hidden unclean foods that most restaurants want to add to everything on their menu.  Below are comment written after we visited these establishments.

“You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.”  Lev 11:47

“Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do.”  Ecc 9:7
